The Library recently identified
171 articles by over 70 CDU authors published in PubMed during
2025. That’s quite an impressive number, and it raised some questions regarding
where CDU research data is stored.
With those numbers in front of
us, the CDU
Office of Research and the Library sponsored an in-depth “how
to use the DRYAD
repository” introduction for all researchers, faculty and students
in February.
Researchers have historically
been very protective of research data and specifics, which were closely held
for research privacy. But since 2008 the major funders, NIH and
many others, have required a data
management plan and a named repository for all grant-funded
research.
Jess
Herzog, Dryad Partner Experience Manager, took over 20 researchers, faculty
and Library staff through the basics:
- When (and why) Dryad is a good choice for
your data
- How Dryad helps you comply with data
sharing policies
- How to prepare your data for sharing
- How to submit to Dryad and what happens
along the way
- Metrics (downloads, views)
- Support and resources
- New and upcoming improvements
The Dryadpresentation is available in the Research
LibGuide.
Any further questions about
beginning the DRYAD data management process, please contact KathleenSmith, Library or Norma Estrada, Research Operations. We are here to help you get
started.
Our next webinar is scheduled
for April 2026. Please look for upcoming announcements in the Research
SharePoint News, the CDU
Broadcast, and on the Library webpage. We look forward to
seeing you in April!
