What are Lib Guides?
Guides (LibGuides) at Your Service
Are you a new CDU student looking for info about what the Library has for your program? Your textbooks?
Are you an instructor teaching a new course and wondering if the Library has anything to support you or your students?
Let us introduce the CDU library guides (LibGuides) collection. Over 75 LibGuides are covering most aspects of CDU education and research. Every program (AA RT to DNP/MD/MHS-PA to Residencies) has a LibGuide. There are guides which highlight resources on healthcare/medical subjects (genetic counseling) or topical interests such as Fair Use/copyright in the classroom or research publication.
LibGuides are electronic, all-in-one guides to the resources available through the Library. They pull together CDU electronic resources (e-journals, eBooks, videos, and databases) as well as the print (the Reserve and loan book collections) in a concise format.
The Program LibGuides follow a standard format of current semester (FA25) textbooks by course on the cover page. The next Tab is generally program basics of background info, pertinent journals, and recommended readings. Board exam and test prep software, clinical sim resources, a library page (databases, reputable websites, and tutorials), and lastly, a Citation and Writing Guide. We aim to make LibGuides comprehensive and easy to use.
The HC/medical subject and topical interest LibGuides also follow a standard format, which is easy to use and may be linked to program pages or other CDU resources. Examples of these LibGuides:
Journal Master List: every subscription past and current.
APA Citation and Writing Guide
AV, Poster Services, and Loan Laptops instruction guide.
